  • Erin started as a cabinet maker and later expanded into joinery. In 2006, he co-founded a timber import business, which later grew to include the production of skirting, flooring, and cabinetry components. As the business expanded, Erin developed a custom software system to streamline operations.

After facing significant challenges when outside investors took control, Erin found a new path with a fresh project, seizing an opportunity from deVOL Kitchens that led him to co-found Woodge, an ERP system for the woodworking industry. His experience revealed that businesses often faced deeper issues beyond operational inefficiencies, prompting him to offer consultancy services to address these challenges.

However, Erin realised that while consultancy could transform businesses, it didn't always lead to lasting change because improvements often depended on his direct involvement. To create more sustainable impact, he shifted to mentoring, focusing on developing the skills of business owners and management teams. This led to the founding of Mentor2Freedom, a network designed to support and empower leaders.

Erin also began investing in and turning around businesses, starting with the Joinery Network, BJ Waller, and The Wood Works. Now, as CEO, Erin continues to mentor these companies, aiming to help small and medium-sized business owners build sustainable, saleable businesses, ultimately transforming the woodworking industry.

  • Joe brings a wealth of industry experience to his role at Mentor 2 Freedom. His journey began in his teenage years, crafting his own furniture before pursuing formal studies in Furniture and Product Design at Nottingham Trent University.

His early career included an internship at a bespoke contemporary furniture company, where he gained hands-on experience in every aspect of the business—from client meetings and workshop production to site visits. Progressing to a mid-weight designer role and then a senior designer position at a leading English kitchen furniture company, Joe significantly boosted kitchen design sales by £2 million. He also led the transition from multiple disjointed software platforms to Woodge, an industry-specific ERP system, for the design team.

Following this, Joe worked as a business consultant for Woodge, applying his extensive experience to help client companies enhance profitability, improve management practices, and refine their company culture. He also played a key role in systemising and organising Woodge itself and facilitated the company's presence at several industry shows.

Now serving as the Managing Director of Mentor 2 Freedom, Joe brings a deep understanding of workshop operations and client-facing roles, drawn from his diverse background as a designer and consultant. His expertise continues to drive innovation and success within the organisation.
